Floyd Thursby at the DH

  • Daylesford Hotel 2 Burke Square Daylesford, VIC, 3460 Australia (map)

"Australian folk singer Floyd Thursby has years of songs and stories to share, whether busking in the streets of Iran, playing in nursing homes, or performing for the Prime Minister of Vietnam. From singing French chanson with quartet La Mauvaise Réputation to spearheading the skiffle revival with Skiffle Party, Thursby is fascinated by all styles of music.

His original songs cover the full spectrum of life, from the sweetest loves to the saddest losses, from grappling with anxiety to celebrating the opening of a roast chicken joint, or the simple pleasure of gazing at the stars. His latest album ‘Every Day’s Another Dance’ was released in June 2024.

Thursby has been booked to appear at festivals across Australia and internationally, including Cygnet Folk Festival (Tas), Majors Creek Folk Festival (NSW), Newstead Live Music Festival (Vic), West Australian Guitar Festival (WA), Yackandandah Folk Festival (Vic), Mount Roland Folk Festival (Tas), Brunswick Music Festival (Vic), Palm Creek Folk Festival (Qld), Mossvale Music Festival (Vic), Lymm Festival (UK), CresFest (Vic) and Hay Glamping and Music Festival (Vietnam)."

As the warmer months roll on, the Daylesford Hotel is bringing live music back to the beer garden with Summer Sessions—a relaxed afternoon of live music, every Saturday from 2 pm to 4 pm throughout summer. Featuring a rotating lineup of local and visiting musicians, Summer Sessions is all about laid-back afternoons, good tunes, and cold drinks in one of Daylesford’s finest outdoor spots. Expect a mix of folk, blues, and acoustic sets, perfect for easing into the weekend beneath the shade of the beer garden’s trees.

Find a table, order a drink, and settle in.
