Chilean-born pianist José brings a rich, soulful energy to the keys, shaped by a lifetime of performance. From touring Latin America with a traditional folk group in his early years to mastering jazz in a classic dixieland band alongside his grandfather, his sound is steeped in story and tradition. He later formed one of Santiago’s youngest traditional jazz ensembles, earning a reputation for capturing the spirit of early New Orleans with a fresh, expressive touch.
Now based in Daylesford, José blends these influences into an effortless live set that moves between warmth, rhythm and quiet virtuosity — the perfect accompaniment to a drink, good company and an evening well spent at Bar Bamford.
