Family Farm Band was conceived 20 years ago when Stacy Kilpatrick (fiddle/keys) and Steve Douglas (guitar) met under an auspicious starry sky at the Harrietville Bluegrass Festival. In the past two decades they have been Daylesford’s go-to band for entertaining and danceable Americana music, and have performed over 3000 shows at regional pubs, birthdays, weddings, parties, riverboats, and more in both Australia and Japan.
Performing both originals and covers, Family Farm Band draws from a vast repertoire of classic country, bluegrass, and what they call “Southern Soul.” Featuring three-part vocal harmonies with upright bass player Shane Biggs, with the excitement of Jeremy Meaden on trumpet bringing the energy of New Orleans street music, they never fail to entertain. Take a musical trip of the southern USA without leaving town, illustrated by amusing anecdotes and storytelling.
Family Farm Band always encourages audience participation, whether young or old, so bring the whole family down to The Daylesford Hotel Beer Garden on Saturday Jan. 25th to celebrate the long weekend and sing along and dance with the band to kick off our Summer Sessions!
