WEBSITE SECTIONS
This page will explain all the sections of the website that have got customisation via coding so you can easily work out how to alter any customisation or why some sections don’t appear the same as they normally would.
If you find a section or “block” that isn’t listed here but has been customised, lemme know and I’ll update this page for you.
By the way, the funny zig zag line below - this is just to grab your attention and highlight that each “section” on a page can have a divider which you can style any way you want.
LIST SECTIONS
Also called Auto-Layouts or People Sections.
These “blocks” are actually sections so only come up when creating a new section (rather than adding an element or block to an existing section on a page)
There are some located in Intro and other areas, but mainly they are found under People. They are the ones that have the little information icon in top right hand corner.
Essentially these are sections which have built in layouts - you can then add a series of images with headers, paragraph and buttons and then style them but the content itself, is managed by the auto-layout. Really good for when you want images with buttons to all move together across various screen sizes rather than moving randomly which can happen with Fluid Editor.
It is worth noting that the List Sections are all styled in one way so if you make changes to one, then it changes all unless we apply specific CSS coding to that particular list.
We also have got custom coding in anyway so that these sections are styled a little nicer than what pops up automatically. This CSS code applies to ALL sections unless we have done individual coding (as above).
One of the main differences in working with these sections is how you update the content. You actually have to go into the section settings, and add all of the content in this styling box not directly onto the page as you would normally. But the benefits are that they always display properly and never out of order as they are “locked” together.
SUMMARY BLOCKS
Another way to display content is via Summary Blocks. These pull in information from either a blog page or a store/shop page. You can pull in all the content/data from these pages or can filter it using Categories and Filters. For example, you could have a Summary Block featuring ALL events, or one featuring only a particular category (you can choose what these categories are and posts can appear in multiple categories).
